He and his cronies looted the state while it was in such a vulnerable state after the bifurcation.

It is no wonder that people were angry with him and they voted his party TDP from the power. The party only won 23 seats, which was humiliating for the party and Chandrababu Naidu. People were fed up of him and party.

The Rs. 978 Crore Sadavarti Choultry Lands Issue

Chandrababu Naidu has planned to get hold of the high-value Sadavarti lands, which is worth more than of Rs. 1,000 Crore. His plan was to buy the land with the help of his cronies at a lower price or Rs. 22 Crore, and then sell it at higher price to one of his other rich cronies.

But the plan failed miserably thanks to the media coverage, efforts by the opposition, people and the objections of Tamil Nadu state government. The voice of truth couldn’t be drowned and finally the court quashed the auction. This left Chandrababu Naidu totally busted and exposed to the world what type of CM he was. It is not a surprise that his name comes up every time anyone asks – who is 420 in AP.

The Sadavarti lands scams were one of many land scams that Chandrababu Naidu and his party people were involved in. During his 5 years of reign, all he has done was loot the state, which was already reeling under the loss of Telangana and Hyderabad. The state had no fund, and people wanted development, especially food, better living condition and better health care. Who is 420 in AP – now you know it?

Sri Sadavarti Choultry was established in Amaravati of Guntur district before independence by the former Amaravati Jamindar Raja Vasireddy Venkatadri Naidu. The intention of the choultry was to provide boarding facilities to economically weak Brahmin students pursuing Vedic studies. He donated 471.76 acres of land to accommodate future needs.

On the behest of the TDP MLA Kommalapati Sridhar, Chandrababu Naidu sanctioned the auction under the pretext that the land was being encroached by the locals. The lands were auctioned and was bought by the family of ChalamalasettyRamanujaya, the chairman of Kapu Corporation and TDP leader from Krishna district.

Land Sold at Low Price

Acquiring and using illegal means wasn’t enough for the Chandrababu Naidu government. It wanted to profit from loot too. The Sri Sadavarti Choultry land was worth 1000 crores, but it was sold at just Rs. 50 lakh per acres. As per the estimation by the government, the cost of one acre of land was 6 crores. Ironically, the private real estate in the same area usually sold 200-plot at 55 lakhs, which means the actual market value of the land is 13 crore per acre. Without any enquiry, or verification, the land auction was sanctioned by the government just like that without asking any question.

The auction of the land was a joke. The official auction disregarded all the rules of auction and sold the land at an even lower price. The reason given by the government was that there were no bidders for the land auction and so they took the price offered at the table. The offered price was lower than the auction price, which was again lower than the actual price. Now it is easy enough to answer who is 40 in AP.

This hasty decision by the government resulted in selling of the land at Rs. 22.44 crore i.e. Rs. 27 lakh per acre. And guess who purchased the land at such a low price? The land was bought by Chalamalasetty Ramanujaya’s family along with five other people – Mandala Sanjeeva, Reddy, M. Sunitha Reddy, Chavali Krishna Reddy, M. SuryakiranMouli. D. Pavan Kumar and R. Sivarama, and Krishna Rao.

Thanks to the AP High Court, the auction was later cancelled on the grounds of visible irregularities in the auction process. This is how the Chandrababu Naidu operated while he was the CM of the state between 2014 and 2019. Now, if his name comes up every time anyone asks who is 420 in AP, don’t be surprised.

Who Were Behind the Scam?

There were bigwigs involved in the scam. There is no doubt that Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Loka was deeply involved in the Sadavarti choultry lands scams news. The actual value of the land is around 500 crores rupees as opposed to what the government has been saying.

Several auctions took place but all were canceled because of the infighting. The first auction was dominated by Kapu Corporation chairman and TDP leader Chalamalasetty

Ramanujaya, the second auction was dominated by BadveluSrinivasulu Reddy, a follower of Minister Adinarayana Reddy. A TDP leader Varadarajula Reddy was involved in the auction. At last, the auction was challenged in the court, which ordered the government to give back the bid money and the land. At last justice prevailed and the land was saved from the dubious conspiracy of Chandrababu Naidu, his son, and his party people.
